Super Easy Slow Cooker Mulled Wine 🍷
Mulled wine is a classic winter drink that is perfect for warming up on those cold, dark nights (and a perfect addition to Christmas in July celebrations!). Making it in a slow cooker is unbelievably easy and allows all the flavors to meld together perfectly. It also keeps your mulled wine warm, to enjoy a few glasses throughout the evening.
There are a number of different recipes available, but this is my tried and tested version!
Here’s how to make slow cooker mulled wine:
- 2 bottles red wine (I just use whatever I have on hand!)
- (optional) 1/3 cup spiced rum - I use Kraken spiced rum
- 1/3 cup real maple syrup (this dissolves much easier than other sugar sources)
- 4 whole cloves
- 2 whole star anise pods
- 2 cinnamon sticks
-
Peel of 1/2 orange
(not pictured - Kraken spiced rum)
Combine your ingredients in your slow cooker and heat up on your 'low' setting.
Once your mulled wine is nice and hot, and you can smell the beautiful spice aromas - turn your slow cooker down to 'keep warm'.
With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can have a warm, comforting, and flavorful drink to enjoy with friends and family. So go ahead and give it a try, and let me know how you go!
